OTAUS 2025: AI, NDIS & Community Connections
Our wonderful team at splose had the pleasure of attending the Occupational Therapy Australia: National Conference 2025 - right here in our hometown of Adelaide!
It was an incredible few days filled with learning, laughter, and plenty of powerful conversations with occupational therapists from across the country. From exploring the latest in AI and automation to tackling the upcoming NDIS pricing changes, this year’s conference delivered practical insights and thoughtful reflections on the future of Occupational Therapy.
Top key takeaways
AI–powered tools are on the top of peoples mind
It’s clear the OT community is ready to embrace AI and automation. We spoke to so many practitioners eager to learn how they can up-skill and use automation to streamline admin, reduce burnout, and free up more time for what matters - client care.
They were particularly intrigued by splose AI, which seamlessly integrates into daily workflows, drafting progress notes, reports, emails, and letters. The voice‑to‑text feature was a clear winner - with practitioners able to focus entirely on sessions while splose transcribed and generated progress notes.
It’s exciting to see this shift, and we’re here to help make the transition easier with our AI-powered tools.
NDIS pricing changes are creating buzz
There was a lot of discussion around the upcoming July 2025 NDIS pricing changes, and what these updates mean for everyday operations.
Occupational therapists (and other Allied Health providers) have witnessed their standard capped rate of $193.99/hr remain locked since 2019, while travel reimbursements are now limited to just 50 % of that rate.
If you’re still trying to wrap your head around it all, we’ve broken it down in our latest blog - impact of July 2025 NDIS pricing changes on Allied Health practices - check it out for a clear overview.
Collaborate & connect across sectors
A major theme at OTAUS2025 was the importance of cross-sector collaboration - uniting OTs working in primary care, mental health, aged care, disability and more to deliver truly holistic, client-centred care.
This aligns perfectly with the official conference theme “Collaborate and Connect” which emphasised strengthening connections within the profession and with external healthcare partners.
Thank you for collaborating, connecting, and shaping the future of OT
To everyone who visited our booth, stayed for a chat, and shared your stories—thank you! It was a privilege to hear about the incredible work you do in your communities and share a few time-saving tips that we hope will make your practice life that little bit easier.
We’re so grateful to be part of this inspiring profession and look forward to continuing to support OTs across Australia.
