Speech Pathology Australia 2025: Our top takeaways
The team at splose had the absolute pleasure of attending the Speech Pathology Australia National Conference, held from 13 - 15th June at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Across three exciting days, the event brought together a vibrant community of speech pathologists, researchers, students, and Allied Health professionals from across the country. With a packed schedule of thought-provoking keynotes, practical workshops, and insightful conversations, we left feeling inspired, energised, and proud to be supporting the work of such a passionate profession.
Our top takes from the SPA National Conference 2025:
Serving dignity: Maggie Beer’s mission
A standout moment from SPA 2025 was hearing from culinary icon Maggie Beer AO, who passionately spoke about the power of good food in aged care. Through her mission and recent show Maggie Beer’s Big Mission, she’s leading a world-first social experiment to transform aged care dining - reminding us that flavour, dignity, and care are essential ingredients for quality of life.
Her vision was a powerful reminder of the role all of us play in supporting wellbeing across every aspect of care.
Empowering practitioners through education and connection
One of the standout themes was the importance of community and continuous learning. Whether it was students soaking up knowledge, seasoned clinicians sharing case studies, or peers swapping notes over a splose coffee (on us!). The conference reminded us just how powerful collaboration can be.
These connections don’t just grow careers - they improve client outcomes too.
The power of AI practice management
In conversations at our booth and throughout the venue, we heard a common theme: time is precious, admin takes up too much of it and how important AI and automation is. That’s where splose comes in. From reducing paperwork to simplifying workflows, it was clear that smart, intuitive AI-powered practice management software has a key role to play in helping speech pathologists spend more time doing what they love - helping people communicate.
A big thank you
To every speechie who stopped by our booth, shared their journey, or just came over to say hi, we can’t thank you enough! It was such a joy to meet so many friendly faces and hear about the incredible work you're doing in clinics, schools, homes, and beyond.
And of course, a heartfelt thank you to Speech Pathology Australia for hosting such a thoughtful and empowering event. The energy and passion we witnessed reminded us why we do what we do at splose.
We’re proud to support speech pathologists with tools that make practice life easier and more impactful. We’re already counting down to next year!
