We are still buzzing from the energy and insight shared at the Physiotherapy New Zealand (PNZ) Business Symposium in Auckland. As proud sponsors, our team had an incredible day connecting with private practice owners and managers dedicated to driving the future of physiotherapy.

The symposium, designed for business-focused leaders, covered everything from economic forecasting to cybersecurity. However, the true highlight for us was seeing technology take centre stage, particularly in how it promises to revolutionise patient care.

Top Takeaways from a Day of Innovation and Strategy

1. AI and Physiotherapy: Bridging Science, Technology, and Patient Care

The most anticipated session of the day was the panel discussion, “AI and Physiotherapy: How is it bridging Science, Technology, and Patient Care,” which featured our very own Head of Sales, Ryan Green.

Alongside fellow innovators, Ryan contributed to a compelling discussion that moved beyond the hype of AI and focused on its ethical and practical application in the clinic. The core message was clear: AI must serve to enhance, not replace, clinical excellence.

The panel explored how AI can responsibly support physiotherapists by:

  • Enhancing Efficiency: Utilising tools for text analysis, progress note summarisation, and administrative streamlining.
  • Upholding Standards: Focusing on using AI while maintaining patient safety, cultural sensitivity, equity, and the highest ethical standards.
  • Driving Outcomes: Leveraging data and technology to improve clinical decision-making and patient recovery pathways.

It was an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with the profession's leaders on how we can collectively navigate this shift towards a more digitally integrated and efficient future.

2. Strategic Insights for Sustainable Success

Beyond the technological discussions, the symposium offered crucial commercial wisdom for private practice owners looking to thrive in a changing economic landscape. The focus was on the practical application of business fundamentals, from understanding key national economic indicators and the external pressures impacting practices, to breaking down essential financial metrics to drive smarter decisions.

Finally, the agenda underscored the importance of succession planning as a vital step in building a lasting legacy for the future.

The resounding message was that robust clinical practice must be supported by sound commercial strategy to ensure the profession remains resilient and continues to deliver high-quality care.

We Look Forward to Next Time!

Thank you to Physiotherapy New Zealand for hosting such an insightful and action-packed event. We loved connecting with so many dedicated professionals, both at our exhibition stand and during the valuable networking session afterwards.

We’re energised by the commitment of the industry to embrace innovation and look forward to continuing the conversation on how technology can help every physiotherapy practice focus more on what matters most: the patient.
