How does software fit into such a deeply human profession?
I guess everybody gets into this job because they want to help people. One learns as you do that, there are all sorts of systems around you. splose manages to reduce all of the headache of the administrative stuff.
Tell us about The Anchor Practice
The Anchor Practice is a multi-disciplinary child and adolescent mental health service in Edinburgh. We found that as the practice grew, when we took on more clinicians, different clinicians have different specialisms and worked in different ways.
What makes splose better for Allied Health?
So as an allied health practice; it really hit that sweet spot of having enough data and customize ability to be a responsive psychology and psychotherapy solution, whilst not having all sorts of features that we didn't need. Generally speaking, splose is extremely intuitive and that was another reason that we were drawn to it. But also the support has been fantastic.
What feature got you excited?
The feature that made us make the change was the two-way integration with Xero. So when invoices are marked as paid in Xero, that's then reflected in the splose platform. When you raise an invoice in splose, it raises that in Xero. So everything is completely synchronised. The biggest time saving feature, by a long way, has been the bulk invoicing feature.
You click one button at the end of the month and all invoices are raised, they’re all accurate according to people's diaries, and then they’re all sent with a standard email to patients.
What does splose give you back?
The thing it gives me back is more time to spend with patients, so I get to spend less time over spreadsheets and reconciling payments and more time to see my own patients and do what I've got into this job to do, which is talk to people and help them.
What’s been the biggest time-saving feature?
(Bulk invoicing) It's unbelievable. Seriously, I click a button that says batch invoice. I put the time period and select the clinicians, then pschhtt — they’re all done! And then there's a little confetti burst and it says you've just saved 36 hours. Which is true, but it's mad. It’s mad.
