After 15 years working in the NHS and local authority, I was inspired to start my own business because I wanted to provide a gold standard service and an outstanding service that met the needs of my clients. 

So our business is based on the fact that we're improving everybody's lives, not just our clients, but those that work with them, their families, and our clinicians. 

My name's Gráinne Yeatman. I'm a speech and language therapist and the Founder and Clinical Director of Develop My Child Limited. We are a multi-disciplinary team, so we consist of speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, nurses, doctors, and medical professionals, and we aim not just to provide assessment but support beyond the assessment process.

We're unusual in the fact that our company doesn't work solely in clinics. We do clinic work, but we work in schools and colleges and alternative provisions such as a farm, where we need to be able to access our notes out in the community. 

splose is really helpful in terms of clinical governance and clinical audit. So we can see that all our notes are time and date stamped. We can see who wrote the notes and we can share information securely between the key members of the team. 

So there may be an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, and a psychologist all working with the same child, and it's important that they can see the most up-to-date information and current information from the last session.

Another key feature of splose that we like is the customisable forms. We can create our own forms that have information about speech and language, occupational therapy, educational, and medical information of a client. 

We can create forms that can capture all that data and are immediately stored in the client notes, again in terms of streamlining the systems, it's a real time-saver because the information is sent directly to the client notes.

The best feature - the bit that made me really kick my feet in excitement - was the integration with the accountancy software because then billing became a much less laborious job. The fact that the billing is linked to the calendar means that there's less room for human error and that it's a huge time-saver for us.

Being able to integrate our billing, being able to work across a range of settings and have a range of professionals access the notes with the same child, as well as the use of the customisable forms, have allowed us to streamline our business workflow, and the streamlining the workflow now mean that our business is scalable on a national level, and splose has helped us do that.
