As always, we’ve been on a roll creating new features to make your life easier. At splose, one of our golden rules has always been ‘your practice, your way’, because we know every team runs a little differently. It’s why now, we’re putting even more control in your hands and introducing Custom Roles - a new feature that lets you tailor access for each team member, so they get exactly what they need and nothing they don’t.
Custom Roles lets you set specific permissions for each role in your practice. Whether you're running a small but mighty team, or managing an ever-growing multi-site operation, you decide who gets access to what—from patient files and scheduling to financial data and reports.
Here’s the deal:
Complete control: Create and tweak roles for every position, from reception to management, to promotions and reshuffles. You decide who sees what at all times.
Flexible permissions: Limit or grant access to any feature—whether it’s billing, clinical notes, or reports. Need someone to view data but not edit it? You’ve got it.
Increased security: If somebody doesn’t need to see it, make sure they can’t see it. Only give access where it’s needed, reducing the risk of errors or unauthorised access.
Streamlined workflows: Why dig through the data? Keep everyone focused by showing them only what’s relevant, cutting down on clutter and boosting productivity.
Custom Roles in action:
Here’s some common roles practices are creating, to tailor access rules in their team.
Receptionists: Can handle scheduling and invoicing but won’t see sensitive clinical notes.
Practitioners: Access client profiles and clinical notes but stay out of the admin settings.
Admins: Manage invoicing and payments, but client confidentiality stays protected.
Setting up Custom Roles is quick and easy. Head to the Customisation section, where you can define roles to match your practice’s unique structure. As your team grows or responsibilities shift, you can easily update or create new roles. Check out our support article for more details on how to set up Custom Roles and make the most of this feature.
With Custom Roles, you’re empowering your team with the right tools while keeping sensitive data secure—so you can focus on what matters most.
