Documentation, handled: Introducing AI Blocks for splose

AI Blocks - GA Release

3 mins to read

For most practitioners, the work doesn't end when the client walks out the door.

You finish one appointment, open your notes, and the mental marathon begins. What was the specific progress milestone? How did we quantify that functional capacity evaluation? What was the agreed-upon homework?

You spend valuable time trying to recall every detail, then you rewrite it all, format it neatly, and hope it sounds consistent across every session. It’s critical for patient care, but it’s a time-consuming administrative burden that can take away from what really matters: your clients.

Last year at SPARK, we previewed a solution designed to change this. We envisioned a tool that wouldn’t just add "AI" as a feature, but one that would act as a true clinical sidekick, integrated, adaptable, and trustworthy.

Today, after a successful Beta period with our earliest users, we are thrilled to announce the General Availability of AI Blocks in splose.

The shift from drafting to reviewing

AI Blocks isn't a separate chat window you need to explain your context to. It’s an intelligent, customisable workflow embedded directly into your progress note templates.

Instead of starting from zero, you open your note, hit generate, and watch your transcript or history transform into a formatted draft. AI Blocks handles the heavy lifting of the initial write-up, so you can move straight to the final review and focus on the treatment plan.

Here’s how it changes your workflow:

  1. Open your Progress Note: Launch your progress note as usual. Because AI Blocks are built-in (not bolted-on), they are already there waiting for you inside your progress note templates.
  2. Generate with context: With one click, an AI Block pulls relevant data from transcripts, progress note history, and client details to draft your sections instantly.
  3. Review & refine: AI Blocks creates a high-quality clinical starting point formatted exactly how you want it. You retain complete clinical authority: review the draft, make edits, and then "Accept" it into your note.

Built for your specific practice

We know that documentation isn't "one-size-fits-all."

What makes AI Blocks powerful is its adaptability. You can design custom prompts that match your specific clinical language, or use our AI Block Library to share standardised blocks across your entire clinic. This ensures everyone adheres to the same high quality of documentation standards, with easy filtering by discipline or note-style.

Clinical quality, in a fraction of the time

The number one question we received during the Beta was: Is this reliable?

We built AI Blocks with a Practitioner-Led philosophy. The AI generates the draft based on the data you provide, but you are always the clinical expert. By moving AI from buried chat threads to sitting perfectly inside your notes, the review process becomes far easier to manage.

The results from our Beta cohort speak for themselves:

Practitioners have reduced their documentation time from an average of 20 minutes per note down to just 5 minutes. This isn't achieved by compromising on quality, but by having a sidekick to handle the repetitive drafting work that clogs up your schedule.

How to get started

You don't need to be a tech expert to start saving time. To help you hit the ground running, we’ve pre-loaded your library with a few splose-certified example blocks.

Familiarise yourself with how they work in a progress note, and then use these as a starting point to create your own AI blocks. Tailor AI blocks to suit your unique workflow and writing style and start adding them to your progress note templates for repeat use in your practice.

Stop rewriting. Start generating. Welcome to a smarter way to document your sessions.
