We sat here with a big whiteboard, and we went through the connection of all of our different softwares. And the image is scary, all the different manual tasks that we had to do across all the different systems, and all the different arrows that pointed to each other, and how each of those was someone's role. And then on the other whiteboard, we just had splose. It was just that simple.

My name's Dale Wakefield. I'm the Chief Operating Officer at Sea Change Health Professionals. We're a mobile Allied Health company that's been in operation for about seven years now. We work with occupational therapists, physios, behaviour support clinicians, dietitian's, and speech therapists to provide services in people's homes throughout New South Wales, and actually now into a few different states as well.

There can be certain challenges as you grow, and one of those in particular is software. And so we've been probably through now, in working with splose onto our fourth different clinical record system in those seven years. After we did the review of splose and looked at how it worked, my IT guy said to me, "Look, it does everything we need to do, but it just does it with radical simplicity". So that's a term that we've used.

splose was really simple, and it was one of the main reasons why we chose it. We were able to really stand it up within just a couple of weeks in the back end, and then all within just a couple of days, we were able to move our clinical staff over. And that included moving all the record systems from our old record system in splose, having all of our staff trained on how to use splose. Once we got on splose and started using the AI, we realised there was a huge benefit to it.

We've been able to take reports that would typically take hours and hours to complete and really cut that time in half, if not more.

Part of my role is making sure that we're future proofing the business, and we've been able to do that, I think, more so with splose. We want their headspace to be focused on the clients delivering the services and doing a really good job, not worried about what they're doing with tracking mileage or that their notes are saved properly. We've now opened clinic satellites in Melbourne, in Adelaide and Brisbane since taking splose on because we're able to work really well with health professionals that don't need to be exactly where we are. I am an advocate for it just within six months of using it and I've got about twenty years of experience in using multiple different softwares and at the moment splose ticks all of those boxes for me.

The story of Sea Change: From software struggles to streamlined success

Seven years and four different clinical record systems. That was the reality for the team at Sea Change Health Professionals. Like many dedicated allied health teams, they faced a recurring, frustrating challenge: clunky software that got in the way of care.

Despite having decades of combined industry experience, finding a system that actually delivered without creating more headaches felt like a constant battle. The heavy administrative burden was taking its toll on the team. Clinicians were bogged down by the "admin noise", worrying about whether their session notes were saved properly or spending tedious hours manually tracking mileage. It was robbing them of the crucial headspace they needed to do what they do best: focus entirely on delivering exceptional client services. They didn't just need a functional calendar; they needed software to actively future-proof their business.

The turning point

After cycling through three previous platforms that completely missed the mark, Sea Change Health Professionals made the switch to splose. The difference was stark and immediate. The setup process, traditionally a daunting and chaotic task for any established clinic, was brilliantly simple. In just a couple of weeks, the leadership team was able to stand the system up entirely, allowing clinicians to transition smoothly without missing a beat.

The transformation

Within just six months, splose didn't just organise their practice; it fundamentally shifted how Sea Change Health Professionals operated. The team finally had a system that ticked every box, leading to immediate, highly practical improvements:

  • Reclaiming lost hours: Tedious administrative reporting that would typically take hours and hours to complete was slashed in half, if not more.
  • Automated peace of mind: Clinicians no longer had to stress over manual mileage tracking or double-checking if their clinical notes had saved properly. The system handled the heavy lifting in the background.
  • Rapid implementation: Unlike the prolonged, exhausting onboarding of their previous systems, splose was fully operational in just a matter of weeks.

Today, Sea Change Health Professionals has reclaimed their headspace. By eliminating software friction, splose has empowered the team to put the screen down and focus entirely on the people who matter most: their clients. As they look to the future, they know they finally have a practice management system that scales with them, proving that the right software doesn't just manage a clinic, it future-proofs it.
