Get up to speed in minutes with splose AI file upload

5 mins to read

New clients rarely arrive with a blank slate. They come with specialist reports, discharge summaries, imaging results, psychology assessments and referral letters, sometimes all at once. Each one matters, and each one takes time to read properly.

Most practitioners deal with this the same way. They block out time before the first appointment to read every page, or they skim and hope nothing important was buried on page nine.

splose AI file upload takes the guesswork out of complex paperwork. Upload a document and splose AI pulls out what matters, answers your questions about it and helps you turn it into the reports you need to write. Let’s look at how that works in practice.

Cut to the chase on specialist documents

Specialist reports are written for completeness, not speed. The details you need, like the diagnosis, the recommendations and the precautions, are often spread across several pages of background and clinical language. splose AI goes straight to the important information, so you can understand a document without reading it from start to finish.

Summaries that give you the full picture

Upload a complex medical document and ask splose AI to summarise it. You’ll get a quick client overview that covers the following key points:

  • History: relevant background, previous diagnoses and past interventions
  • Current condition: what’s happening now, including findings and presenting concerns
  • Treatment plan: recommendations, goals and next steps from the treating specialist

This is most useful when a client comes with several files. Instead of switching between documents and piecing the story together yourself, you get one clear overview before the client walks in. Here’s a prompt to help you get started:

“Summarise this report. Include the client’s relevant history, current diagnosis and any treatment recommendations. Use dot points and keep it under 200 words.”

Ask targeted questions about the file

Sometimes you don’t need a summary, just one answer. splose AI lets you ask specific questions about an uploaded file, so you can skip the manual review. Questions such as:

“Does this report mention any contraindications for exercise?”

“What were the client’s scores on the standardised assessments, and when were they completed?”

“Did the specialist recommend a follow-up review? If so, when?”

With splose AI, you’ll find what you need in seconds, and you can always go back to the original document to check the details.

Draft reports from the files you’ve uploaded

Reading a document is only half the job. Often you need to respond to it with a letter of support, a funding report or an update to the referrer.

splose AI can draft these reports using the uploaded file together with the client’s progress notes and details in splose. That means your letter draws on both the specialist’s findings and your own clinical records, without you having to copy information between them.

A letter of support prompt might look like this:

“Using the uploaded specialist report and the last 3 progress notes, write a letter of support for this client’s funding application. Summarise the diagnosis, the functional impact and the progress made in therapy so far. Formal tone. Australian English.”

Tips for better results

Tell it what you’re looking for. “Summarise this” works, but “Summarise this with a focus on mobility and falls risk” works better. The more specific your prompt, the more useful the output.

Ask one question at a time. Targeted questions get targeted answers. If you need several pieces of information, ask for them separately or list them clearly in a single prompt.

Combine the file with your own notes. When drafting reports, tell splose AI which progress notes to use alongside the upload, for example “Use the uploaded report and progress notes from the last 3 months.”

Ask for a source. If an answer matters clinically, ask splose AI to say where in the document it found it, for example “Quote the section of the report this comes from.” That makes it quicker to check.

What splose AI can’t do

splose AI helps you get through documents faster, but it doesn’t replace your clinical judgement. Summaries and drafts are a starting point. If a document is unclear, incomplete or poorly scanned, splose AI can only work with what it can read. At such times, it may fill gaps with assumptions that don’t necessarily sound wrong at first glance, but aren't precise on closer inspection. That’s why we always recommend checking important details against the original file, particularly diagnoses, medications, dates and precautions. Then review any report before it’s sent. This is more than good practice, it’s a compliance necessity.

Getting started is easy

To see the efficiency of splose AI work for your clients, start by opening a client’s progress note → AI panel → upload a file → Once the file is uploaded, you can either ask a question, request a summary or draft a report.

We recommend starting with the next specialist report that lands in your inbox, and build from there.
